“Representation from industry was phenomenal.”
“The overall discussion was thought- provoking and the speakers were very passionate and frank with their opinions.”
“It was interesting to learn about all the desires for making policy regarding water in Canada. It was good to see the business sector involved with these discussions. Other events sometimes ignore those who would be funding such studies.”

Last week's Canadian Water Summit in Calgary was without a doubt the most meaningful Summit in the history of the event. As in years past, participants were part of a rich mix of water leaders convening to share best practices and explore opportunities for innovation. But unlike past events, our discussions were informed by the very real and very recent Calgary floods.
While some of us have left Calgary, most of the participants were locals who continue to deal with the aftermath of the floods as they affect friends and family. We were humbled by the devastation, and inspired by Calgarians' reaction to it.
We strongly encourage the entire CWS community, from Europe to Mexico to the US and across Canada, to make a donation to the Red Cross Alberta Floods Fund.
As articulated by our keynote speaker, Joppe Cramwinckel, the Calgary floods coincided with floods in India, Germany and Ontario. Clearly our water work, in all its complexity and simplicity, is more important than ever before.
