Fuhar is a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC)
working with Dr. Madjid Mohseni. His research focuses on developing cost effective water
treatment technologies for potable reuse of wastewater. Prior to starting his PhD research at
UBC, Fuhar worked on the treatment of algal bloom impacted waters in North America during
his Masters work at UBC. Mr. Dixit holds a bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of
Technology (BHU) Varanasi, and has gained valuable research experience in the field of water
treatment through exchanges with the University of Tokyo (Japan) and Western University
(Canada). He has been awarded the Honda Young Engineer and Scientist Award by Honda
Foundation in Japan and is a recipient of the Canadian Mitacs’ Globalink Graduate Fellowship.
He is also an active member of RES’EAU WaterNet and IC-IMPACTS NCE and has plays a key
leadership role in HQP training across India and Canada.
