Director of Water Management
Ms. Roy is Director of Water Management leading water policy-related research at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). Ms. Roy provides research leadership, policy analyses, and management functions on issues related to sustainable development in the context of people, land, water and agriculture in Canada and globally.
Her work has focused in part on governance and policy instruments in the context of Lake Winnipeg Basin management in Canada including topics such as effective and cost-efficient ecosystem services delivery for multiple benefits and natural infrastructure implementation for improved resilience and priority, water-related needs. She works in partnership with provincial and federal governments, NGOs, international agencies and others to develop programs and delivery mechanisms for improved land and water systems.
Ms. Roy is currently on the Expert Advisory Council for Manitoba’s Climate and Green Plan, as well as on the boards of the Red River Basin Commission and the Manitoba Habitat Heritage Corporation.
