Dan Draghici is a Trade Commissioner for the Clean Technology sector team at Global Affairs Canada’s Trade Sectors Bureau, a dedicated sectoral point of contact at the Department. He currently covers Canadian water and wastewater technologies files.
For over seventeen years, he has worked on numerous projects including the production of promotional material, and the creation and dissemination of information products, sector tools and sector assessments. During company outreach and other networking opportunities, he is striving to acquire knowledge of Canadian capabilities, key players and business opportunities in the sector. In May 2009, he took a leading role in the development of the department’s first Clean Technology TCS Strategy.
Prior to September 2001, Dan worked as a consultant for Industry Canada (Survey of Innovation Analysis), EDC (Global Forecast – Spring 2000), as well as for the IDRC, the North-South Institute and the Canadian Co-operative Association (various projects).
His post-secondary education background covers Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, and International Affairs. In addition, both living and working in Romania, the Czech Republic, the US and Canada, have allowed him to acquire a good cultural perspective required today in successfully assessing international business opportunities.
