Barry Orr is the sewer outreach and control inspector for the City of London, Ontario. He has over 25 years of experience in environmental and wastewater fields.

Barry is the spokesperson for the Municipal Enforcement Sewer Use Group of Canada, and the Canadian representative on the International Water Services Flushability Group for the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association. The Standards Council of Canada and the International Organization for Standardization appointed Barry as an expert representative on their “flushable” workgroup.

Orr is the author of many articles published in Water Canada’s Magazine, Environmental Science and Engineering Magazine, WEAO’s Influents Magazine, and a co-author of the Ryerson University report: Defining “Flushability” for Sewer Use.

In June 2015, Barry received the national Water’s Next Award for the Government category. In April 2019, Barry received the Water Environment Association of Ontario Golden Manhole Award.

Barry is known as Captain F.O.G. across Canada and can even be found in a comic called “The
Adventures of Fatberg.”
