Nomination Guideline

The Water Canada Awards celebrate people, projects, and teams dedicated to protecting and treating Canada’s most precious resource—water. In 2025, the categories have been refreshed and continue to honour those who demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the quality of the Canadian water sector.

SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATIONS FOR 2025 WATER CANADA AWARDS

All nominations are due May 2nd, 2025. 

Review the list below of questions and required materials to prepare for your nomination

PEOPLE CATEGORIES

  • Nominator’s Information: Email Address, Name, Organization, Title
  • Nominee’s Information: Name and Email Address
  • Provide a description of the nominee’s positions and roles, highlighting how these experiences demonstrate their qualifications and eligibility for this award.
  • Provide a description of the key contributions made by the nominee that supported advancements in the water sector.
  • Provide a list of the nominee’s noteworthy accomplishments, projects or successes in the water sector. Feel free to include links to relevant projects or initiatives, publications, research, or media coverage!
  • Provide any other information about the nominee not already described above that demonstrates their unique contributions to the water sector and/or how they stand out from their peers in the industry.

Please send a minimum of 1 photo of the nominee. More photos are highly encouraged!

PROJECT CATEGORIES

  • Nominator’s Information: Email address, Name, Organization, Title
  • Project Name
  • Project Contact (If different from Nominator)
  • Summary of rationale why the project merits an award in the chosen category
  • Description of the project, including the problem or challenge the project is seeking to
    address and in which context/community.
  • Project status (e.g. pilot phase, under construction, in maintenance phase, being replicated elsewhere, etc.)
  • 2-3 key project highlights
  • 2-3 key innovative features
  • 2-3 examples demonstrating the scalability potential of the project, such as how it has or can be replicated or expanded to benefit other communities, regions, or systems
  • URL where additional project information can be found
